WARRANTY
All Protectli Products (part numbers listed below) are guaranteed to be free from manufacturing defects for a period of 2 years from the purchase date. If you believe you have a Protectli product that has a defect in material or workmanship, or has failed during normal use within the warranty period, please contact Protectli via any means listed on our website https://eu.protectli.com/contact/. If the product is deemed to be defective, a bench tested replacement unit will be sent via ground shipment. If a more expeditious method of receiving a replacement is necessary, Protectli will work with the customer to make sure that defective products are as minimally business impacting as possible. Proof of purchase is required.
RETURN FOR REFUND
You have 30 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it. Your item just needs to have the receipt or proof of purchase. If you don’t like it within 30 days, we’ll take it back. Period.
For Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs), please ensure that the Vault and all included accessories are returned in the same physical condition as received, with all cords neatly wrapped and all accessories included. Any missing accessories or damage incurred during use or return shipment may result in a deduction from your refund to cover repair or replacement costs. Common issues with returns include, but are not limited to, missing power adapters, network cables, mounting brackets, components, and physical damage to the Vault and/or accessories.
We strongly recommend utilizing the original packaging to mitigate potential damage during shipping. Should the Vault or any accessories be found non-functional or damaged upon inspection, we reserve the right to adjust the refund amount accordingly. In such cases, we will provide photographic evidence and a detailed price breakdown for any necessary repairs or replacements.
To protect your return shipment, we advise you to insure the Vault and accessories. This will provide recourse in the event of damage during transit. If any issues arise with your return, please promptly contact our customer support team for assistance.
Once we receive your item, we will inspect it and notify you that we have received your returned item. We will immediately notify you on the status of your refund after inspecting the item. If your return is approved, we will initiate a refund to your credit card (or original method of payment). You will receive the credit within a reasonable amount of time, depending on your card issuer’s policies.
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are nonrefundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of shipping will be deducted from your refund.
LIMITATIONS
This warranty does not apply to defects resulting from any Customer actions, such as mishandling, improper interfacing, operation outside of design limits, misapplication, improper repair, or unauthorized modification. No other warranties are expressed or implied. Protectli specifically disclaims any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a specific purpose. Protectli’s liability shall be limited to the actual purchase price of any defective unit or units of equipment to which a claim is made, and shall in no event include the Customer’s lost profits or goodwill, or any other direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages whether based on contract, tort or other legal theory. Protectli shall not be liable for normal manufacturing defects or customary variances from specifications.
The industry-standard lifespan for eMMC drives is approximately 3,000 write cycles. However, we have stress-tested our Samsung 5.1a eMMC drives and exceeded 10,000 write cycles. Due to the inherently shorter lifespan of eMMC drives compared to traditional SSDs, the warranty for eMMC drives is limited to one year, even if an extended warranty is purchased. Most operating systems offer features that can greatly minimize or eliminate log writing, which can significantly extend the lifespan of eMMC drives over many years.
For warranty repairs for international customers outside of Germany, the customer must bear shipping costs to and from Protectli and any duties, taxes, or fees associated with the return.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Products sold by Protectli are not designed, intended or authorized for use in applications intended to sustain or support life, in any nuclear facilities or any other application where the failure of the product could create a situation where catastrophic property damage, personal injury or death may occur. In the event that the Customer purchases or uses any Protectli products for any such unintended or unauthorized application, the Customer shall indemnify and hold harmless Protectli and its officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, successors and assigns against all claims, costs, damages and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ and expert witness’ fees) arising out of or in connection with, directly or indirectly, any claim for property damage, personal injury or death associated with such unintended or unauthorized use, even if such claim alleges that Protectli was negligent regarding the design or manufacture of the subject product.
